Henry Robert Morland (1716?-1797) was also known as "Old Morland" being the father of artist George Morland.
He was an reputed artist, art dealer and restorer of paintings. His reputation began in 1754 and was furthered by the brilliant success of his son: George Morland.
Although successful earlier in life, in 1762 he suffered bankruptcy but received charity from the Royal Academy. He continued to work exhibiting mainly oil and some works in crayon.
He specialised in painting portraits and genre subjects.
