Frederick Cayley Robinson (1862 - 1927)

A Symbolist painter and illustrator Frederick Cayley Robinson was born in Brentford upon Thames, and studied in the St John's Wood Academy and the Royal Academy Schools.

Cayley Robinson was much influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites, the Nabis, the Symbolists, and especially by Puvis de Chavannes, although he remained an individualist. His contemporaries remarked of his work, calling it visionary.
