Grenville Davey produces beautifully finished, out-sized objects which explore notions of function and purpose. This work dates from 1991 and was partly responsible for Davey's winning of the Turner Prize in 1992.
Grenville Davey was born in Launceston, Cornwall in 1961. He studied at Exeter College of Art (1981-82) and at Goldsmiths College, University of London (1982-85).
He has exhibited widely on the international circuit, in 1992 was winner of the Turner Prize.
He became Professor of Drawing at the University of East London.
